Bearwood's A-Level PE students were delighted by their recent tour of the magnificent stadium at Twickenham.
Their visit aimed to help the group expand
their knowledge of the topics they are studying in a practical way with direct reference to the syllabus.
For the AS students it was a chance to expand on
their growing understanding of the evolution of sport over the last 200 years, through games such
as mob football which used to be played for days on
end between two villages. For A2 students it was a
great insight into how sponsors have helped in the
running of this great stadium.
The tour took the group to a number of places including: Hospitality Suites, the Royal Box,
changing rooms, the tunnel and best of all
pitch side.
After the tour, the students were able to visit the museum dedicated to Twickenham RFC, where they further developed their our knowledge of how sports (mainly rugby and football) have developed
over time.
