Overseas
Students wishing to join us from overseas are asked to sit our ESOL Assessment Test which enables us to ensure that a student will be able to cope in a mainstream classroom setting at an English school. A confidential report from the current school is also sought and, where possible, an interview with the Headmaster is arranged.
Lessons are provided by our ESOL Department for students who require further assistance with improving their level of English, either in groups or on a one-to-one basis. An additional charge is made for these lessons.
Guardians
It is essential that all overseas students have a guardian in the UK who is responsible for transportation to and from the College, and who will provide accommodation for the student when the College is closed (for example, at half-term). This guardian also acts on behalf of the parents in other respects, and is invited to Parents’ Evenings and other school events.
Visa and Immigration Requirements
It is our experience that obtaining a student visa can take several weeks to organise. In order to provide a visa to enable a student to study in the UK, the British Embassy or Consulate overseas will require evidence that the first term’s fees have been fully settled. School bills will therefore be sent 3 months in advance of the student’s start date with us, to allow time for full payment to be received by us. On receipt of the fees, we will issue visa and immigration support letters to parents, confirming that a place has been offered to the student and the first term’s fees fully settled.
