Choir

Joining the choir is an opportunity open to all scholars and staff who wish to sing. Some scholars are talented musicians and read music well but most learn by being in the choir. The choir sings regularly for chapel services and for important services throughout the year such as Remembrance Sunday, Carol Services and Speech Day. Once a year the choir sings at St Paul’s Cathedral, London in the Annual National Seafarer’s Service.

Singing well requires good breath control, being able to sing in tune and concentration.

Practices are at different times of the week for different voices and the whole choir practise together during Tuesday lunch time.
