Climbing

Climbing is available to CCF cadets at the end of the Fourth Form.

It develops physical skills of rope work, knot tying, belaying, balance and coordination. It also develops the teamwork and trust through dependence upon the person holding your safety rope.

Climbing takes place on Friday afternoon in the Summer Term of the Fourth Form and prepares scholars to continue on Fridays into the Fifth and Sixth Forms.

The College has its own climbing wall in a converted squash court, where the basics of bouldering (climbing horizontally), single pitch and lead climbing are developed. On Field Days, an off site visit is arranged to an indoor climbing centre or, in the Summer, to an outdoor rock wall.
