Estate Work
Estate Work is for all scholars who like to work in the open air. There are many parts of the grounds that are beautiful - the Pulham Water Garden and the pinetum in particular - but need maintenance. Estate work varies from the clearance of overgrown areas (ending in a big bonfire) to replanting with new plants.
Scholars learn how to handle garden tools safely, identify plants and work together in a group.
Once a year the gardens are opened to the public, under the aegis of the National Garden Scheme, and scholars help on the day.
Many scholars select this activity as a ‘service’ for their Duke of Edinburgh's Award.
