Description
The Mansion House is the centre of the College around which all other buildings are located. Historic rooms house modern facilities.
The Cook Library is situated in the former drawing room, one of the most beautiful rooms in the main mansion. It has a collection of both fiction and non-fiction books (some 14,000 in total) for loan and reference use. The library resource is further enhanced by modern personal computers with up to date reference CDs. Pupils are encouraged to read daily quality broadsheet newspapers to keep abreast of current affairs, politics and news. This learning resource is run by a full-time librarian and supports all areas of the curriculum as well as providing for recreational reading.
The need for modern technology is supported by a brand new computer resource suite and all departments in the College have PCs.
The range of facilities for pupils at Bearwood College is extensive. A fully equipped photographic and video editing suite, extensive pitches, a swimming pool, tennis and squash courts, weights-training room, motor vehicle engineering workshop and rifle range are all found immediately adjacent to the main building.
Our grounds contain many additional features: two golf courses; a fifty acre lake and a well equipped boat house with a fleet of sailing dinghies, canoes and power boats; extensive woodlands with a professionally built obstacle course and fitness trail; a mountain bike course and stables all ensure that a pupil at Bearwood is always busy.
