Hockey
Hockey, or Field Hockey is a very popular, fun, fast and skilful team game. It is a stick and ball game with origins dating back thousands of years. It was traditionally played on grass, but is now increasingly played on synthetic surfaces. Bearwood also has the use of a local facility (Cantley Park) during the Hockey season.
Hockey is taught within the PE programme and is an activity option. It is compulsory for girls in Key Stage 3 and 4, and optional to both boys and girls in their Sixth Form.
Bearwood’s successes included SE Berkshire Schools semi-finalists.
