Pastoral

The routine at Bearwood College is underpinned by a universal system of pastoral care. Tutors in both boarding and day houses look after an average of a dozen pupils each. The tutor monitors the welfare and guides the personal development of every tutee, keeping a close eye on academic progress.

All pupils take part in a wide range of games and activities outside the classroom. They enjoy a breadth of experience as well as being expected to discover specific areas in which to excel.

In preparation for young adulthood we cultivate an attitude of responsibility and independence.

The following day/boarding arrangements are available:

  • day attendance, which may include optional Saturday morning activities
  • flexible, occasional boarding for limited or irregular periods to help busy parents
  • weekly boarding with the flexibility to return home at weekends once College commitments have been fulfilled
  • full boarding with continuous care and involvement for seven days a week (excluding Exeats)
