Robotics
Robotics develops logical thought and a working knowledge of the interface between software and mechanical devices.
Robotics was introduced in 2007 as a new activity, based on a trial being run by Reading University to get schools interested in robotics and cybernetics. The culmination of the trial was a competition held in at the Science Museum in London, where the robots will be put through their paces. The Bearwood team attended with their robot and competed for the best ‘dance’, successful completion of an ‘obstacle course’ and the best decoration.
Robotics currently runs during lunch hours and during Saturday activity and is open to scholars of all ages.
