Soccer

Soccer is the major sport for most boys in the Third to Sixth Forms during the Spring term, and for First and Second Formers in the Autumn term.

It develops coordination, cardiovascular fitness and speed. As a team game, it develops leadership and team work as well as a tactical appreciation of the game.

The College puts up to 11 teams out for interschool fixtures including the First XI who enter the Wokingham District Schools Cup. In 2007 the First XI also toured Barbados.

There are House matches, at all ages, as part of the Inter-house competition, which is keenly contested.

Girls football is a fast growing sport and is now classed as the most popular girls sport in the country. There is the opportunity for Bearwood girls to play Football as one of their activity choices, in which fixtures are played or within PE classes, where they mix with the boys.

Last season Bearwood Girls U13 won three-quarters of their fixtures.
