Village
Game of Village is an activity designed to build a scale person (a peep) together with their house. The houses are then grouped into villages and located in a scale plot out in the College grounds. The skills developed are those of design, ability to work to scale, fabrication, decoration etc. In addition, the group dynamic of a community coming together is explored, to see whether lessons can be learnt about cooperation or selfish behaviour.
At the end of the process the buildings are ‘valued’ by an external assessor to determine who has added the most value to the bag of raw materials that each individual starts out with.
This activity is for First and Second Formers participating in Preparation for Adult Life (PAL) lessons during the week.
